Writing Circles
Writing Circles allow you to share your story with just a few select people on the site - as if workshopping a manuscript you wish to publish elsewhere before releasing it here on DigitalPulp. When you upload
your story to the
site, select the blue Writing Circle Story entry and only those watchers of yours who you have identified as members of your writing circle will be able to see it. The story will not appear on the front page of the site or in the story browser, so sending out an announcement to your friends is essential (once again only those in your writing circle will be alerted to its presence). Otherwise, to see your story one would have to stop by your profile, go to the Stories page and select Writing Circle stories. This is an option which only appears if the person looking at the page is a member of your circle.
To turn a story from a writing story to a public story or a hidden story is as easy as clicking its Edit button and adjusting the Visibility setting at the bottom of the page.
How Do I Add People To My Writing Circle?
It all works through the watchlist. When you click the Add Watch button in another member's profile, this adds them to your watch list and takes you to the Your Watches page to confirm the addition. There all you need to do is click the member's checkbox and click the Add Writing Circle button.
To remove someone from your writing circle, do the same but click the Remove Writing Circle button instead.
Unlike when you first add someone to your Watch list, no announcement will be sent to the other person. To figure out whose writing circles one belongs to watch for the writing circle icons next to people's icons on the Your Watches page. These are color coded to explain the connection
